Change of music....again

Tomorrow is the first day of December. So in honor of December 25th, I have now officially changed our music to odd Christmas music. You know I can't do anything serious because I am an elementary school music teacher.

Jordan and the Glasses

No, Jordan does not have glasses. My nephew, Ian, just got new glasses. So they got the glasses place to put plain lenses in Ian's old glasses so Jordan could play with them. Everyone, except Will and me, wear glasses. Jordan has always been fascinated by glasses - what kid hasn't?!? But I would not be surprised if one or both of my boys get glasses later in life due to the bad eyesight of Fred and my daddy.

Thanksgiving at Nana and Papa's

We always spend Thanksgiving at my parents' house.
Jordan, Ian (my 12 year old nephew), and Beth (my 16 year old niece)
Will did NOT want his picture taken.

Jordan playing in Nana and Papa's backyard.

Will still did not want his picture taken as he was playing in Nana and Papa's backyard.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
from The Maynards

Can y'all tell I have a collection of big airblown characters? Fred says I love holidays way too much. Yes, I did embroider their sweatsuits. The 'gobble' keeps going around their body and up their legs.

What we are thankful for.....

The boys were asked in their classes to say what they were most thankful for on their feather. I am very proud of their answers!
Jordan is thankful for his Mommy, Daddy, Will (his best friend), Nana, and Papa (we couldn't find a picture of Nana that would have made her happy - Nana is like Mommy, we both HATE our pictures to be taken).
Will is thankful for his Mommy, Daddy, Nana, and Papa (he told me Jordan but he didn't put it on his feather).

Jordan's Class Turkey

Once again, we were assigned the project of making a family feather. Plus, I read to Jordan's class again. It is funny to think that when they wee me they yelled Jordan's Mommy is here to read. I have already been given request for Christmas books.

Will's Thanksgiving Feast

At Will's school today they had their Thanksgiving Feast. All of the students were dressed as Native Americans. Will is part Creek Indian (from my side of the family) and Cherokee Indian (from Fred's side of the family). The students sang songs (Will informed me he was not in the mood to sing - this from a music teacher's child).

Our Little Chefs

If you didn't know, Fred LOVES to make and bake bread, pies, and cinnamon rolls. He decided to make apple pies for his faculty. Jordan and Will decided Daddy needed help.
Both of the boys announced, "We are chefs like Ratatouille."

Our 2009 Calendar

This weekend we bought our 2009 family calendar. Jordan got to pick the calendar this year. So I get to look at SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS for an entire year.
If you would like to purchase one like our lovely calendar, go to your nearest Barnes and Noble Bookstore.

My new blog addition

I was shopping online and saw this countdown for Christmas. Since Jordan and Will LOVE Christmas and I like shopping on Oriental Trading, I thought it was appropriate.

Mommy, I made FIRE!

Just a minute ago, Will came running up to me saying, "Mommy, I made fire." Will took my hand and led me into the kitchen. There inside the microwave oven was Will's "fire." He thought the Rice Krispies Treat needed to be heated, wrapper and all. It was very hard to get onto him about using the microwave oven without laughing.

Proud Conservative Americans

As you can see, the Maynards are:

Proud to be Americans
In GOD we do trust
we support our troops
we are educated and have brains
Fred and I WORK for our money and would like to KEEP more of it
we believe marriage=man + woman
every child has the right to be born
we want our nation to have the BEST President and Vice President that we can have!

I hope everyone will join my entire family in voting for John McCain and Sarah Palin on November 4, 2008! I am very fearful of what our nation will become if the other side wins!!!

Mommy's 36th Birthday

Today I wanted a low key and calm birthday. Fred did just that. We all slept in late, had lunch at the Country Store at Callaway Gardens, went to Callaway Gardens afterwards, and now we are at home hanging out. I love family time days!
